Spot Light On Ian Hickman "The Invader"

A rising star in competitive Eating, Ian recently graduated from the University of Kentucky where he majored in Journalism.  Originally from Tennessee, he now makes his home in Lexington, Kentucky.

Known by family and friends as “The Bottomless Pit” he has made a name for himself in the many local buffets and steak houses in Lexington Kentucky. Ian’s goal is to become an Elite Eater and he looks forward to the day when he can stand side by side with the great ones. When Ian invades a buffet, he does so with the mindset; “I am your worst nightmare and I am here to put you out of business.”. Rumor has it that local food eateries have signed a petition requesting that the “Invader” be banished from their eating establishments.

Although single, when asked who is idea woman is he simply responds; “not sure….but it would be great if she was a waitress”. Some of the Invader's many conquests include 19 Skyline chili/cheese dogs in 30 minutes, 33 Dairyette hamburgers in 45 minutes, 117 Hooter's wings in one sitting, 220 Red Lobster shrimp in 1 hour, 22 Taco Johns tacos in one sitting a 64oz Reno's Big Bubba Steak in 19 minutes

Ian's 'invasion of the professional ranks' began on June 25th at the Indiana Spice Fest -Ian took 3rd in the Chicken Wing eating competition and 4th in Corn on the Cob. Ian learned a valuable lesson at that festival- NEVER pour water on wings that are being weighed!  Ian took 1st place at a local watermelon eating contest where he destroyed the competition by consuming an awesome 9.5 pounds.

As of late, "The Invader" has been very active on the media circut-he has been interviewed by several Kentucky and Louisville newspapers and TV shows. In addition, Ian is being filmed for the upcoming MTV's reality show "True Life". And if that were not enough, at this time he is filming with Moore Casting based out of Tennessee for a pilot show called "The Visitor's". This show focus is on several characters typically seen at  southern county fairs ie competitive eaters.

Congrats to Ian on making the AICE rankings coming in at #22
