Chapman is ranked #11 by Speedeat.com
Born in 1961, in Amarillo
Texas, the Steak capitol of the world, legend has it, that the Chowhound
was born with a steak in his mouth. The ChowHound was raised in
a children's home. At an early age, the ChowHound faced intense
competition for food. From these difficult circumstances and humble
beginnings, the legend of Chowhound Chapman emerges. ChowHound also
served in the US Army from 1979-1983. He was a frequent visitor
of the “Midnight Mess Hall" (Military dining facility).
Rumor has it, that he was a permanent fixture at the Midnight Mess
Hall at Ft. Carson, Colorado. This was no easy task, because the
Chowhound had to walk three miles to the other side of the base
in order to get to the Midnight Mess Hall. It was during his military
service that this devotion to food earned him the nickname of "Chowhound"
from his fellow soldiers. As a serious athlete, ex-infantry soldier
and marathon runner, Chowhound knows the importance of practice.
Chowhound's daily routine consists of a head of cabbage and speed
drinks a additional gallon of water.
