Elizabeth "Rubber Gut" Canady

"Rubber Gut" Canady came on the competitive eating scene in a big way in 2007. She had been in touch with AICE Chairman Arnie "Chowhound" Chapman and promised that she would make a big splash on the Competitive Eating scene if given the chance. When asked to partner up with New England Competitive Eating Legend Gentleman Joe Menchetti to face the mighty Japanese Eating Legend Nobuyuki "The Giant" Shirota and female Eating Sensation Timoka Miyake, The 5'6", 95lbs Chef and Food Service Manager stepped up to the table with a devastating display of eating prowess in various pumpkin based food items. Shortly afterwards, Canady proved her team victory with Menchetti was no fluke by breaking a well known two minute mini-hamburger record and showed World Class ability, two days later by eating 38 mini Hamburgers in eight minutes. Elizabeth was reported to have consumed in excess of 25 lbs during the course of a day when being filmed by Nippon-Japanese TV for a New Years special. Elizabeth was rumored to have eaten two plates of donuts (14 donuts) 4 lbs of French Fries, 15 Entries and 15 1/4 lb Hamburgers over the course of one day. Apparently the Japanese film crew and the diner staff were absolutely shocked when they observed Elizabeth eating the incredible quantities of food. Look for Elizabeth to continue having a fantastic 2008 where she where her great ability will continue to raise eyebrows. With only two events under her belt she immediately earned the 11th ranking in the Nation and quickly climbed up to the 5th spot.

Other accomplishments include:

-First Eater to consume the 9lb Black Rock Tavern Hamburger in only 32 Minutes
-Consumed the J&R's 76 oz. steak in Long Island in only 26 minutes
-Member of Team USA where she traveled to Japan and defeated the great Japanese Noodle Eating Champ "Sugawara" by eating 2.6 kg of French Fries in 30 minutes at the Hard Rock Cafe in Tokyo Japan
-Took 2nd at the National Potato Latke Eating Championship at Zan's Kosher Deli in Lake Grove NY in December of 2007
